Getting started with Azure AI Studio at Nashua Cloud .NET User Group

Recently, I presented “Getting Started with Azure AI Studio” at the Nashua Cloud .NET User Group. In this session, we explored how to leverage Azure AI Studio for building custom AI copilots and generative AI applications. The session was filled with great energy, and it was exciting to see so many engaged questions from the participants!

Azure AI Studio offers a unified platform for developing AI apps at scale. We dove into its robust features, such as hybrid vector search, prompt flow, and support for OpenAI models like GPT-4o Turbo and DALL·E 3. One of the highlights was the demo, which showcased how easily you can integrate your own data, use safe and responsible AI tools, and build a complete AI lifecycle from data ingestion to model deployment.

A key takeaway for many attendees was understanding the difference between retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and fine-tuning AI models. Both approaches provide powerful ways to customize AI outputs based on specific needs—whether enhancing responses with external knowledge or adapting the tone and format.

I also covered Azure’s emphasis on data privacy and responsible AI, demonstrating how Azure ensures that customer data is protected while enabling seamless development and deployment of intelligent solutions.

The discussions afterward were insightful, focusing on best practices for connecting data, responsible AI usage, and practical scenarios for integrating these capabilities into real-world applications.

Watch the full session and explore the resources to get hands-on with Azure AI Studio. This presentation is a great starting point if you’re passionate about taking your applications from concept to an AI-powered reality.
